Do my attendees/fans have to create yet another account for ticketing?No, attendees simply purchase a ticket, receive it via their Facebook, Gmail, Yahoo, or Hotmail and long into their email account to access the ticket.
How are my attendees/fans able to transfer tickets to their friends?When one attendee buys multiple tickets, they can transfer to their friends by simply tapping a button, entering their friends email address, and voila, the ticket disappears from the buyers account and can be accessed by friends via their associated email.

What if I don’t want to allow resale for my event?The UPGRADED platform allows an event owner to place restrictions on resale. This includes preventing resale completely for all tickets, a subset of tickets, placing price caps on the resale value.
How does resale happen?Resale can happen via an event owners own self-contained marketplace, or event owners can choose to allow tickets to be sold on all the secondary markets. Because of an UPGRADED Smart Tickets blockchain underpinning, an event owner can know exactly where their tickets are being sold.
How can I stop scalpers/brokers from profiting off of my tickets?If an event owner wants to allow resale, aside from the ability to place price caps on ticket resale, UPGRADED Smart Tickets can prevent resale unless the seller is willing to pass back a portion of their profits on the resale to the event owner.
What about fraudulent tickets?UPGRADED Smart Tickets are backed by the blockchain, meaning ownership is clearly defined. As an additional layer of security, bar codes and QR codes are hidden from the face of the Smart Ticket until the doors are open at the venue and the holder is near the venue.

Sandy was CTO at InStadium, an ad network of 450+ pro/college sports venues. Sandy was previously Sr. Director at Turner Broadcasting from 2011-2014, heading up their Emerging Technologies office in San Francisco. In 2009, Sandy was Founder and CEO of Irynsoft to bring collaborative video-based learning to mobile devices. Before Irynsoft, Sandy was COO at Piczo, a teen social network with over 35M accounts (acquired by Stardoll in 2009). He also spent six years at Microsoft as Director of the Community Technologies Team for microsoft.com. He has also held positions at Intel, the Boston Consulting Group, and Lockheed Martin. Sandy has a BSEE & M.Eng from Cornell, a BA in Physics from Ithaca College, and an MBA from Wharton.
John spent 11 years at Van Wagner as a Partner while serving as CEO and COO positions for their global Sports & Entertainment / Non-Traditional Marketing businesses. John’s sports career started in 1994 as one of the initial employees of NFL Enterprises, a division of the National Football League charged with incubating technology and media focused businesses on behalf of the League. John left to help build Broadcast.com's sports channel. Post-acquisition by Yahoo!, he relocated to SF to head Yahoo! Sports. John returned to New York in 2001 where he worked on the development of The Sports Museum of America before moving on to Van Wagner. John has an MBA from Kellogg and a BA in Economics from Swarthmore College.
Tim was most recently an EIR at LA-based venture fund Tiller Partners sourcing investment opportunities across all sectors. Prior to joining UPGRADED, Tim was the Co-Founder & CEO of Validated, a digital platform connecting customers to shops and restaurants that pay for transportation costs. Tim also worked at Goldman Sachs in the M&A division for 4 years in New York, London & Dubai, the Sports & Entertainment Agency WME Entertainment (now WME-IMG), and ran operations and business development at the digital video platform Cinemacraft. He has served as an advisor to many startups including Hooked, Gyft and The Hunt, and holds a BBA in Finance & Accounting from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University.
Korby is a technologist and product leader with a passion for delivering global B2B and B2C products that rock markets, change lives, and inspire loyalty beyond reason. His domain expertise spans ticketing, social software, streaming analytics, web services and developer tools at companies such as Ticketmaster, Yahoo!, Myspace, and Microsoft. Prior to joining UPGRADED, Korby spent 4 years delivering the backbone web services that power Ticketmaster's commerce order processing, fulfilment, delivery, fraud analysis, financial reporting and customer support for Resale inventory. He is a former Planning Commissioner for the City of Redmond, WA and holds a B.A. in Politics from the University of Puget Sound.
